What a weekend it was!!!
Thank you to everyone involved and especially to all of you who visited from Didcot, Abingdon, Wallingford, Thame, London, Lincolnshire, Reading, Henley, Wantage and elsewhere near and far. The weather was fantastic considering the forecast and not one drop of rain.
The food, drink, music, cooking demos and the site combined to create a wonderful atmosphere. On talking to a couple leaving the festival on Saturday they revealed they were going home for cook pasta having been inspired by Mariella Bliss demonstrating the ease of making fresh pasta. A great example of what the festival is all about!
So the site is now clear and it looks bear. The festival will be working through the successes of the weekend and working on areas to improve. We are grateful for all the wonderful comments from our producers and our visitors. The one message that is loud and clear is that the festival should return in 2014! We will keep you posted on the dates etc when we have put this years festival to bed.
The Wallingford Food Festival is pleased to announce that this years festival is the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May.Yes, two days to try, taste, buy, enjoy and learn about all of the fabulous local food and drink available.
We have worked hard to build the festival for this year and we are convinced we will have an exciting and interesting fetsival for you. Working with the producers and many of the local businesses we think we have something for everyone!
We are excited to have Alan Coxon - "The Food Archaeologist" not only talking and cooking for us but also he will promoting his new TV series and book at the festival. Some may remember Alan as the resident chef on the Gloria Hunniford daytime show.
We are also excited to have Gary Jones from Le Manior back to excite and dazzle us with his own special magic.
We had over 40 producers last year and we expect to exceed that number this year. This means that we will have a full range of quality locally produced food and drink available for you to try and buy!
